GObeach: digitalising beach management

Digitalisation is also transforming the way we care for and manage our natural environments. At GOservicios, we have developed GObeach, an intelligent application that simplifies the management of beach sampling activities and turns data collected in the field into useful, accessible information that is ready to support decision-making.

The project was born from a specific need: to make a process that traditionally relied on paper records simpler, faster and more reliable. The result is a tool that improves the day-to-day operations of our teams while also giving our clients a more comprehensive view of the information generated during each sampling activity. 
 

From paper records to real-time information

Beach sampling involves collecting a wide range of data and observations, including temperature, colour, transparency, the presence of mineral oils, foams, algae, litter and jellyfish, among other parameters. Until now, much of this information could be recorded manually on paper forms, with all the difficulties this entails: time lost, the possibility of errors, deterioration of documents and delays before the data reached the client.

With GObeach, we are taking a step forward. Our professionals can enter information directly from a mobile device while carrying out the sampling, meaning that the data is recorded digitally and becomes available much more quickly.

As Daniela Gorriz, a technician at GOservicios and the person responsible for the project, explains: “Moving from paper forms to recording data in real time allows us to reduce manual tasks and, above all, provide clients with information much more quickly, in a more organised and accessible way.”

This transformation not only streamlines fieldwork. It also makes it easier to access the information afterwards using different filters, such as date, sampling point, province or person responsible. This allows our clients to locate historical data easily and gain a more structured view of how each area has evolved over time.

The value of GObeach goes beyond replacing paper with a digital tool. For us, innovation means improving processes to create a real impact on people, organisations and the environment.

More agile information management makes our teams’ work easier and enables our clients to access reliable, structured data for their own processes. It also helps reduce the use of paper documentation and ensures that a historical record of the sampling activities carried out is maintained in an organised way.
