Until now, wastewater treatment controls focused on measuring traditional parameters such as organic matter or phosphorus. However, new European Union regulations introduce the obligation to also monitor micropollutants—microscopic substances such as traces of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or pesticides that severely damage aquatic ecosystems. This change will require public administrations, wastewater treatment plant operators, and industrial facilities to perform highly strict, periodic analyses. Failing to secure an accredited laboratory in time to measure these substances exposes organizations to costly fines, legal uncertainty, or even the shutdown of their operations. 

 

 

To meet this urgent need before the market becomes saturated, at GOservicios we have achieved a strategic milestone for the environmental sector: obtaining official accreditation from ENAC under the LEBA scheme (List of Tests Under Accreditation) for the analysis of UWT (Urban Wastewater Treatment) compounds. 

 

 

This accreditation consolidates GOservicios as a technological benchmark in the water sector, placing us among the few laboratories in the market with this fully operational and audited analytical capacity in its facilities, ready to deliver service from day one.

 

 

 
 

 

The implementation of this methodology directly responds to the publication of European Directive (EU) 2024/3019 on urban wastewater, which redefines the control of micropollutants across the continent and demands much more rigorous controls. Instead of waiting for the regulations to become mandatory at the national level and the market to saturate, we have worked to stay ahead of this scenario. 

 

 

As a result, our clients can now validate the compliance of their water with full legal validity, avoiding the risk of sanctions or uncertainty before environmental authorities. The key to this operational speed lies in the LEBA flexible scope system. This scheme allows new accredited tests to be incorporated agilest within the granted scope, without having to wait for an individual ENAC evaluation for each new parameter, significantly accelerating its deployment. This achievement demonstrates not only the maturity of our laboratory management processes, but also the high level of specialization and commitment of our technical team, which has successfully implemented a highly complex method in record time.
